I have been working with kids since I was one.
I learned to break down complex concepts into manageable chunks by teaching advanced lessons to fellow members of my high school swim team.
I learned what it meant to be "in control, not controlling" as a camp counselor for many years.
I love Social Studies, I love working with kids, and I see the art of teaching as combining those two passions.
When I was struggling to find my first Long-Term Substitute job, I turned down an offer to work for an insurance company. It would have been an easy life- and a lucrative one- but thirty years from now I would have looked back and been disappointed that I didn't do my part to leave this world a little bit better than I found it. Teaching is how I make my difference.
